Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment Program-GAT
 
 
 
This is an opportunity for motivated, committed individuals who are passionate about making a difference and receiving beyond entry-level responsibilities. Because of this, the candidate should have some background of volunteer service or education as well as the desire to take on responsibilities that will challenge themselves and make an impact on the Horizons Atlanta at Georgia Tech community. This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position and the individual will work directly with the Director of Student Programs who supervises the Horizons program. The Horizons Program at Georgia Tech partners with three Atlanta Public Schools. The program is a STEM focused program with a strong commitment to providing equity focused social emotional learning programming for the students enrolled. Access to the world-class research, staff, and faculty at Georgia Tech. This VISTA position serves at Georgia Tech’s K-12 educational research and outreach center. Opportunities for professional development and networking with leaders in the fields of education and education reform. Attendance at a national conference focused on education, youth development, or education research. Computer to use during service year.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will work with the Program Director and staff during the school year to: - Promote the program in the community through traditional & social media efforts. - Increase communications with families, data collection, research and planning. - Implement creative strategies for fiscal sustainability: grant research/writing/reporting, event planning and donor cultivation/stewardship. - Develop systems for communicating/sharing information with partner schools - Coordinate volunteer opportunities for the Georgia Tech community to engage with the Horizons Program. - Use data currently being collected to tell additional stories of our impact. - Research and seek opportunities for establishing collaborative relationships with complimentary service providers, associations, or organizations that align with Horizons Atlanta at Georgia Tech work. - Develop systems for effective advisory board management.
