Literacy Mid-South VISTA Leader
 
 
 
The Literacy Mid-South VISTA Project seeks to build the capacity of out-of-school time programs in implementing data informed reading interventions. With VISTA member support, project host sites commit to embedding literacy interventions into their existing programming. The LMS VISTA Leader will work with LMS staff to ensure all AmeriCorps members have a positive service year, successfully complete their VADs, and build professional skills. The LMS VISTA Leader will work with LMS staff to orient new members, provide observation and evaluation of VAD completion, plan events from professional development to celebrations, and more.

Member Duties : The VISTA Leader supports VISTA members, helps them to develop effectiveness and esprit de corps, and enables them to overcome those problems that may result in early resignation or termination. Leader renders this support through regular communication and ongoing review of VADs. The VISTA Leader assists the Project Supervisor in general administration and management of the VISTA project, including sustainability, expansion to new host sites, and reporting.
