Economic Opportunity Corps (EOC) is an AmeriCorps National Service Program committed to fighting poverty and helping individuals achieve financial self-sufficiency. EOC members serve in non-profit and educational institutions across the Buffalo-Niagara region. EOC members are placed in local nonprofits and provide the community with essential financial literacy, financial wellness, and programmatic support.

Member Duties : Green Infrastructure Coordinator AmeriCorps Members will provide 35 hours of service per week at Buffalo Sewer Authority (BSA) green infrastructure sites as well as community organizations on the East Side. Service activities include maintenance of green stormwater infrastructure (GSI) assets: site inspections, assessments, and documentation; trash and debris removal from GSI systems; inlet and drain cleaning; tree maintenance; invasive plant removal; community outreach to residents through door-knocking and tabling at community events; supporting residents in assessing cost-savings resources available; and additional tasks as needed to fulfill community and environmental goals. Members will serve on a crew together that offers immediate paid experiences, training for career pathway positions in water operations and maintenance as well as other environmental fields, and the opportunity to contribute to, support, and advance one’s own community.
