Associate, VISTA Horizons Student Enrichment Program-HGB
 
 
 
This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position and the individual will work directly with the Executive Director of the Horizons Greater Boston program for a full year of service. This is an opportunity for motivated, committed, and collaborative individuals who are passionate about making a difference and receiving beyond entry-level responsibilities. Because of this, the candidate should have a demonstrated interest in volunteer and community service as well as the desire to take on responsibilities that will challenge themselves and make an impact on the community. The VISTA will be provided with daily breakfast and lunch during the summer. The VISTA will have ample opportunities for professional development and networking, along with ongoing support and goal setting for after the VISTA year of service. The VISTA will be reimbursed for all work-related expenses and travel.

Member Duties : The AmeriCorps member will work directly with the Executive Director of Horizons. The VISTA will be doing the following: - Implement creative strategies for fiscal sustainability: grant research/writing/reporting, event planning, and donor cultivation/stewardship. - Promote the program in the community through traditional and social media efforts; - Facilitate best practice sharing among Horizons sites in the region through the use of centralized tracking systems, templates, and resources. - Research and seek opportunities for establishing collaborative relationships with complementary service providers, associations, or organizations that align with Horizons at Mattahunt work. - Coordinate host school parent & student volunteer opportunities. - Research and provide recommendations on the expansion of traditional Horizons programs to serve more students. - Develop centralized tracking systems and create a plan for increasing alumni engagement and tracking.
