OHA HSPR SERV-OR and Community Engagement VISTA

This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. For more information about the Oregon Health Authority VISTA Partnership Program, please visit: http://healthoregon.org/vista. Selections are made on a rolling basis and early applications are strongly encouraged. This position is with the Oregon Health Authority’s Public Health Division, working with the State Emergency Registry of Volunteers in Oregon (SERV-OR) program. The Oregon Health Authority is at the forefront of lowering and containing costs, improving quality and increasing access to health care in order to improve the lifelong health of Oregonians. SERV-OR is a database of licensed health care professionals who have registered to volunteer in response to Federal, State, and/or local emergencies. The Registry allows these licensed volunteers to join State and Local volunteer groups. Oregon needs a strong public health system to achieve better health and better care at lower costs, and SERV-OR is a vital tool in improving healthcare across Oregon. This position is located in Portland, which is Oregon’s cultural center, dense with independent movie theaters and art galleries. The exceptional public transit system makes it easy to get around the city without a car, no matter if you’re visiting a food cart pod or a public park. With the innovative public health work happening in Oregon, Portland is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health. The OHA VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce. We strongly encourage candidates from communities of color, disability, LGBTQIA, and linguistically diverse populations to consider application to our positions.
