OHA Community Access Facilitator (Vaccine/Hepatitis) VISTA
 
 
 
This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. It is centrally located in the Willamette Valley, which is rich with culture and has easy access to hiking and other outdoor adventures in every direction. Within an hour you can reach mountains, the coast, or the big city attractions of Portland. Member Duties : Engagement with vulnerable populations to alleviate health equity imbalances is of top priority for Marion County Health & Human Services. The AmeriCorps member will expand the capability of Marion County Health and Human Services’ (MCHHS) Clinical Preventive Services Program (CPSP) by establishing community partnerships to increase education, understanding and coordination of Hepatitis vaccination and prevention efforts. The member’s service will result in the adoption and evaluation of a framework for Hepatitis vaccination and prevention by community partners in Marion County. AmeriCorps members on the OHA VISTA serve their communities through indirect service. While your projects will endure for years, you will have limited interaction with clients and will be based in an office setting. Applicants should hold a four-year degree, four years of work experiences, or a combination thereof. Applicants should be independent, motivated, and have good writing and intercultural skills.
