OHA Lake County Population Health VISTA

This position joins the Oregon Health Authority’s statewide VISTA team. In addition to activities at your individual site, each member receives additional orientation, training throughout the year, team retreats and meetings, and the support of the team leaders and project director based at the state public health agency. For more information about the Oregon Health Authority VISTA Partnership Program, please visit: http://healthoregon.org/vista. Selections are made on a rolling basis and early applications are strongly encouraged. Lake Health District includes outpatient and specialty clinic services in Oregon and California; a critical access hospital; and countywide behavioral health services. It also operates the county public health department. Lake Health District’s Population Health Department aims to help Lake County residents live healthier lives. Our department uses data to inform decision-making. We believe the community itself must drive change; our mantra is “nothing about us without us.” You will join the team in its mission to empower residents to take charge of their own health. Your focus will be low-income individuals in communities outside Lakeview, which, at about 2,800 people, is the county’s major population center. Here in Lakeview, year-round outdoor recreation opportunities and gorgeous scenery are abound, and small-town community spirit is alive and well, with neighbors who watch out for one another and strangers who smile at you on the street. (Those neighbors include deer and quail!) With the innovative population health work happening in Oregon, Lakeview is a wonderful place to explore a future in public health. The OHA VISTA Partnership Project is committed to building a diverse workforce to broaden and deepen our work in the communities we serve. We strongly encourage candidates from communities of color, disability, LGBTQIA, and linguistically diverse populations to consider application to our positions.
