New York State COVID-19 Response VISTA Leader

New York State COVID-19 Response VISTA Project is an initiative across the government of New York State to build capacity of state agencies to improve employment, food security, and economic opportunity outcomes for vulnerable New Yorkers dealing with the consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic. The VISTA Leader plays a critical role in supporting VISTA members across the state serving to combat the effects of COVID-19 on vulnerable communities. New York State Commission on National and Community Service manages this collaborative project with the help of a VISTA Leader who supports in a variety of ways a team of ten VISTA members placed at distinct government agencies engaged in COVID-19 relief efforts. The role of the VISTA Leader is to work closely with the VISTA Project Director in building capacity for the program by mentoring ten VISTA members, providing resources, information, and actionable items, and coordinating team-orientated activities to foster collaboration and innovation. The VISTA Leader position is open to former VISTAs, AmeriCorps members, or Returned Peace Corps Volunteers who demonstrated exemplary skills and leadership in community service. PC evacuees must have 75% of term completed.
