TSC VISTA 2021:Mentor NY Development Specialist
 
 
 
The Service Collaborative (TSC) VISTA Program mobilizes AmeriCorps VISTA members to function in organizations, government agencies and educational institutions. Members focus on expanding educational opportunities, ensuring economic opportunity for all and creating healthy futures for the residents of low-income communities. Our goals are to strengthen communities across the state and to allow organizations within them to better provide services to impoverished individuals and families. The Service Collaborative VISTA program has partner organizations in New York State and across the country. During their term of service members will receive support from our VISTA team at The Service Collaborative of WNY. Our support includes monthly trainings, a social network of fellow members and daily support from VISTA leaders.

Member Duties : MENTOR New York serves to diminish the mentoring gap through capacity building and technical assistance for coaching and youth development programs. Since 1993, MENTOR New York, utilized local outreach strategies and on-site training of mentoring volunteers and professionals to successfully train over 1500 individuals annually and supported over 400 programs serving 57,000 youth. Over the last five years, MENTOR New York has expanded to provide these services state-wide, including scaling up the training and professional development opportunities available to youth professionals in 2020 and beyond. The Training and Partnership Development VISTA will support the program team in deepening their relationships with mentoring programs across the state and encourage engagement through developing training curricula, outreach strategies, and software tools to help Mentor NY reach more mentoring programs in New York.
