Waynesville VISTA 2020-2021

Members will support the goals of the district volunteer initiatives by engaging community partners in educating at-risk students through the volunteer program components of mentoring, tutoring, enrichment, and administrative support. Members will work collaboratively to increase the district's capacity for supporting student achievement by expanding the support base available for these efforts. This will include improving student achievement by: expanding involvement levels of families and community members, coordinating business, military, and community partnerships, expanding the role of family volunteer involvement, developing opportunities for student service learning experiences, and coordinating community partnerships to serve at-risk students and their families. Members will support the expansion of student service programs beyond the school day by building capacity to support afterschool programs, which will incorporate service learning and volunteer involvement.
