Eco3.21 Family Rise Together Development Coordinator VISTA

Family Rise Together is looking for a self-motivated VISTA to improve its mission of providing support for fathers and bringing families together. Family Rise Together (FRT) is nonprofit in Duluth, MN guided by the philosophy and teaching of self-determination, personal control, and increased finances. The purpose of FRT is to help strengthen the family unity by engaging fathers in their children’s lives to establish family values, social roles and participation in the community. The work of Family Rise Together serves the most vulnerable members of our community by developing community relationships and empowering families to overcome the challenges of poverty, housing, and recidivism. The Development Coordinator VISTA will be responsible for building the capacity of a fast-growing organization to improve its procedures, marketing and fundraising capabilities. The organization is entering into larger grant partnerships and potential government contracts and this VISTA will be integral to streamlining reporting, fundraising, and grant management. The VISTA will also work with the development of an affordable housing project that will serve vulnerable community members and assist in the creation of safe neighborhoods. The VISTA member will be part of the Ecolibrium3 AmeriCorps VISTA cohort serving in northeastern Minnesota. Although each member is serving in a unique position, all cohort members will participate in VISTA specific activities such as regular cohort meetings, collaborative projects, professional development opportunities, and trainings. Additionally, cohort members will jointly complete one community service project of their cooperative design.
