Eco3.22 Age Well Communications and Events Coordinator VISTA
 
 
 
Age Well Arrowhead is a nonprofit in Duluth, MN that promotes wellness and independence for low income older adults allowing them to age well at home. The VISTA member will be part of the Age Well Arrowhead team and play an integral part in service delivery expansion by creating comprehensive external and internal communications that support the organization’s mission. Age Well Arrowhead embraces new technologies and approaches to reaching low income older adults and developing partnerships that support growth and the VISTA member will be key to designing and implementing novel and sustainable solutions. The Communications and Events Coordinator VISTA will support programs and services for delivery to serve more low income vulnerable older adults. The position includes developing a fundraising program as part of an organizational sustainability plan and other activities including grant writing, external communications, and community focused events programming. Candidates should be excited to serve in a growing organization, demonstrate patience and understanding when working with the aging population, and display strong self-motivated to bring new solutions to our community. VISTA member will be part of the Ecolibrium3 AmeriCorps VISTA cohort serving in northeastern Minnesota. Although each member is serving in a unique position, all cohort members will participate in VISTA specific activities such as regular cohort meetings, collaborative projects, professional development opportunities, and trainings. Additionally, cohort members will jointly complete one community service project of their cooperative design.

Member Duties : Member Duties: 1) Assess organizational communications, processes, and policies regarding volunteer supported program delivery to identify and implement systems and supports to improve efficiency and effectiveness. 2) Develop and implement a strategic fundraising plan to raise funds to support organizational sustainability and community reach. Duties include overseeing and managing fundraising efforts, building strong and successful relationships, maintaining communications with donors and patrons, and collaborating with staff to effectively execute fundraising events. 3) Maintain effective and wide reaching methods of external and internal communications, including an organizational newsletter, volunteer communication, social media, web design, and marketing 4) Create new business opportunities by developing programs and services for delivery and overseeing their development and implementation to serve more low-income older adults.
