2022 Grants & Development VISTA
 
 
 
Major functions will include planning an event, soliciting donations, and corresponding with donors and volunteers. Additionally, this VISTA will be responsible for supporting the development of a new customer database to ensure the software properly stores and tracks funding. This VISTA member will increase CALS development team’s capacity to apply for and manage grants. The applicant should have experience with MS Office Suite, project planning, and volunteer recruitment. Applicants should hold a four-year degree in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a similar field. VISTA members receive a $13,362.44 living allowance and have the option between receiving a $6,195 education award or $1,800 end of service stipend. VISTA members have access to AmeriCorps healthcare benefits and receive up to 20 paid days off during their service term. For more information contact Cathy Sanders at csanders@cals.org.

Member Duties : This VISTA will help ensure Central Arkansas Library System has funding to provide educational, social, and nutritional support low-income patrons need in order to break the cycle of poverty. The grants and development VISTA will build CALS's grants and development efforts as it relates to funding for workforce development, food security, housing, and literacy programs and initiatives. By developing sustainable funding streams for programs and projects that alleviate poverty, the VISTA member will build CALS capacity to better serve low-income patrons. This vista will contribute to the creation of a new fundraiser that supports poverty alleviation projects and initiatives at the Central Arkansas Library System. This vista will support the development of new customer database to ensure the software properly stores and tracks funding for poverty alleviation programs and initiatives. This vista will increase the CALS development team’s capacity to apply for and manage grants.
