Bringing Recovery Home - Elyria

The Road to Hope has been providing recovery housing since 2007. We are the sole certified associate of Ohio Recovery Housing in Lorain County. Our organization is committed to continuous quality improvement as a means of increasing the success of each resident’s long-term recovery. The Road To Hope established a recovery planning program in 2014. The recovery plan is a resident -driven process in which the resident and the program director mutually agree and prioritize a set of goals for each resident to be completed in a specified time frame. The recovery plan begins with an Initial Needs Assessment on the first day of residency and continues every 30 days for the next six months. Data and outcomes generated from the resident recovery plans are measured and analyzed to use as a quality improvement tool for both present and future residents and overall organizational efficiency. The addition of a VISTA member to our staff will assist us in improving the long-term recovery potential of our residents and aid us in the continued sustainability of our organization. They will receive insight into the administration of a non-profit organization. They will also reap the benefits of exposure to a successful social service program, and gain awareness of recovery housing and the gamut of recovery services available to those individuals that are striving for a life, free of substance-abuse. The VISTA member will get the opportunity to watch a resident grow into a positive asset to their family and the community.

Member Duties : Our VISTA member will gain first-hand knowledge on how to improve the sustainability of a non-profit entity. They will learn and participate in fundraising and the process of researching, writing and reporting for public and private grant opportunities, and help to create a marketing strategy that will increase our social media and website presence. The member will be exposed to our resident recovery plan program and the Ohio Recovery Housing Outcomes Tools and assist in resident data and outcome collection and interpretation. Volunteers play an integral part in in the continued success of our organization. The VISTA member will assist with the coordination of volunteers to improve necessary recovery support services. They will have direct involvement with our Alumni Committee and help to increase alumni participation through the planning of alumni-specific events. The VISTA member will work with RTH to improve all aspects of the organizations transportation policies.
