Root & Rebound - AmeriCorps VISTA Data Analyst
 
 
 
Root & Rebound (R&R) is a national 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, with offices in California and South Carolina, that works to restore and protect the rights, dignity, and opportunities of formerly incarcerated people and people impacted by the criminal justice system. Our mission is to restore power and resources to the families and communities most harmed by mass incarceration through legal advocacy, public education, policy reform and litigation—a model rooted in the needs and expertise of people who are directly impacted. R&R has a holistic approach to dismantle the two-tiered system of injustice in this country, working in rural and urban communities, and across all areas of life, including housing, employment and occupational licensing, family reunification, parole and probation advocacy, court debt, record expungement, and more. The Data Analyst plays a vital support role to the R&R Leadership Team in this critical phase of expansion by building our online surveying and data tracking platforms, training our team to capture impact data and demonstrating the impact we have across all of our program areas. This role is ideal for those who wish to pursue careers in evaluation, research and data analysis, socially-conscious tech, nonprofit administration, development and fundraising, or working within the foundation/giving or corporate social responsibility fields.

Member Duties : Building upon and refining our data tracking and evaluations systems; Working closely with the Deputy Director of Strategic Partnerships to leverage programs and client data to build a strong organizational narrative; Administering surveys and inputting data/results into SurveyMonkey and Excel; Auditing, “cleaning”, and improving survey and programmatic data; Coaching staff across departments to ensure data accuracy and build a data-driven culture at R&R; Coordinating with our Development and Programs Teams on data collection, evaluation and reporting--for grants, internal and external reports, communications, and other needs that may arise; Analyzing all data collected on programmatic work and creating monthly reports that can be utilized by our team so they can make evidence-informed decisions related to our programmatic investments and development efforts; and Leading a biannual survey of R&R clients who received in-depth legal services
