CoF Cultural & Visitor's Center Project Development VISTA
 
 
 
The primary goal for the MTCVC Project Development VISTA will be to build organizational capacity to increase the center’s anti-poverty programing. The MTCVC and its partners, Tanana Chiefs Conference and Denakkanaaga, are exploring several project concepts that address overcoming poverty through connecting people with social service resources, job skills development, and by embracing cultural heritage. The MTCVC Project Development VISTA will help research new project concepts, determine the viability of the concepts, develop implementation/business plans for the projects, forge the needed partnerships, secure the needed resources, and build capacity for the projects. This is a volunteer service position with a living allowance of $1,333 per month and an annual education award of $6095 or cash stipend of approximately $1,800.

Member Duties : Activities incl: (1) Research anti-poverty pgms in similar orgs + past MTCVC prtnrshp pgms (2) Assess the MTCVC prtnrshp's capacity for pgms (3) Present viable anti-poverty projects, w/plans for implementation + sustainability, to MTCVC leadership (4) Determine specific, measurable, realistic objectives for projects (5) Id + engage key stakeholders throughout project life cycle (6) Research effective fundraising practices + id relevant funding sources (7) Create a resource development plan for MTCVC’s anti-poverty pgms (8) Assist in grant writing as applicable to build financial capacity for pgms (9) Research effective donor solicitation + relationship development strategies (10) Produce + execute a donor engagement strategy (11) Develop + implement a marketing plan to promote projects in the community, incl content + campaign creation on social media + website (12) Recruit, manage, + recognize volunteers as needed to assist with MTCVC goals (13) Assist in implementation of projects
