CoF Cultural & Visitor's Center Project Development VISTA
The primary goal for the MTCVC Project Development VISTA will be to build organizational capacity to increase the center’s Alaska Native cultural programming and diversity education programs serving Interior Alaska communities. The MTCVC and its partners Tanana Chiefs Conference and Denakkanaaga are exploring several project concepts that address enriching lives and building brighter futures by connecting people with opportunities to learn about and embrace Alaska Native cultural heritage. The MTCVC Project Development VISTA will help research new project concepts, determine the viability of the concepts, develop implementation/business plans for the projects, forge the needed partnerships, secure the needed resources, and build capacity for the projects. This is a volunteer service position with a living allowance of $1,333 per month and an annual education award of $6095 or cash stipend of approximately $1,800.

Member Duties : Activities include: • Research culturally based programs in similar organizations and past programs conducted by the MTCVC partnership; highlighting models that promote healthy behavior and support positive economic outcomes • Assess the MTCVC partnership’s capacity for cultural programs • Present viable projects, with plans for implementation and sustainability, to MTCVC leadership • Determine specific, measurable, and realistic objectives for the projects, including objectives focused on poverty alleviation • Research fundraising practices and identify funding sources • Create a resource development plan for the programs • Assist in grant writing • Research effective donor solicitation and engagement strategies • Produce and execute a donor engagement strategy • Develop and implement a marketing plan to promote the projects in the community • Recruit, manage, and recognize volunteers as needed to assist with program goals • Assist in implementation of the projects
