Stewards VISTA: Heartland Conservation Alliance
 
 
 
Outdoor Education Coordinator is a full-time position working with an innovative conservation alliance serving the Kansas City metropolitan area. The VISTA will work with community leaders, conservation partners to develop and improve innovative projects to help youth and families access nature and spend more time outdoors. The Coordinator will be motivated, enjoy the outdoors, be a team player and able to work independently in diverse urban communities. The VISTA must possess skills in public speaking, developing events, engaging volunteers and conducting research.

Member Duties : The third year of the project, the VISTA will be planning and developing outdoor events, communicating success stories and recruiting participation from our six action areas. These activities will successfully impact people’s lives with increased access to nature and outdoor experiences. The VISTA will promote events, hold focus groups, attend trainings and conferences, develop community events and meetings, track and analyze results for the pilot project. The VISTA will develop the plan to recruit community members to experience the outdoors and connect to nature.
