Stewards VISTA: Colorado Canyons Association-Uncompahgre FO
 
 
 
VISTA service member will be supporting Colorado Canyons Association and the Bureau of Land Management in their education and stewardship programs in rural western Colorado, focusing on Gunnison Gorge and Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Areas. The chosen candidate will be working closely with the CCA Land Programs Director to create new programming for historically underserved communities in rural western Colorado, as well as updating existing programs. The candidate will also work with the Bureau of Land Management’s Uncomphagre Field Office to further the outreach goals of the BLM-UFO within Gunnison Gorge and Dominguez-Escalante National Conservation Areas. This job will involve working with youth and members of the public in both collaboration and service.

Member Duties : The successful VISTA candidate will be working with the BLM and Colorado Canyons Association to design and implement new educational programs on public lands that meet community needs and address barriers for outdoor participation identified by the community. The VISTA will also be working with CCA to help update, improve, and develop curriculum. The VISTA will be working with BLM and CCA on community outreach events. There will be a minor fundraising component for the VISTA including both grant writing and community sponsorship development
