Land Management & Restoration Coord.- VT Land Trust/VHCB
 
 
 
Help Vermont Land Trust continue building baseline information across properties, assist in building improved systems for monitoring and programming on VLT fee-owned and conserved lands, and coordinate, implement, track, monitor and care for introduced species control and riparian restoration projects. Vermont Land Trust’s mission is to conserve and foster connections to the farms, forests, and community spaces that define us. This position is part of the Vermont Housing & Conservation Board AmeriCorps. The VHCB AmeriCorps program supports the innovative dual-goal approach to creating stable affordable housing opportunities for Vermont residents while preserving the natural and working landscape. Position begins January 12 and ends December 10, 2027. This position is Full Time: Requires 1720 hours of service for an average of 40 hours per week for 47 weeks. Member will receive a living allowance of $31,000 (pre-tax). Member will receive an education award of $7,395 (pre-tax) upon successful completion of service. Member Duties : • Maintain the Catamount Trail corridor, treadway, access trails, & signs. • Lead volunteers: Help manage logistics, planning schedules, & group dynamics. • Build & maintain structures such as small bridges, culverts, waterbars, & drainage ditches using hand tools. • Conduct monitoring visits to private & public land under trail easement. • Prepare for & follow up on volunteer trail workdays, including equipment maintenance & cleaning, record keeping, purchasing supplies, & communicating w/ volunteers. • Conduct basic GIS (Geographic Information Systems) mapping & data collection w/ GPS unit • Develop volunteer communications such as workday calendars, website, & social media content • Track volunteer hrs & attributes in a database, & recognize volunteer contributions. • Participate in all VHCB AmeriCorps Events & Program Initiatives.
