As a member of the Habitat team, you’ll play a direct role in transforming lives and strengthening communities. As a Construction Crew Member, you’ll work closely with the Construction Supervisor and volunteer teams to support all phases of the homebuilding process. This hands-on role offers valuable experience in residential construction while building skills in teamwork, communication, and project coordination. You’ll contribute directly to Habitat for Humanity–Spokane’s mission by helping construct safe, affordable homes for families across Spokane County. Whether assisting with framing, site prep, or finishing tasks, your work will make a visible, lasting impact in the community. A strong commitment to reliability, safety, and collaboration is essential for success in this role. Who you are: - Previous trade or construction experience (preferred). - Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. - Exceptional interpersonal skills — kind, patient, and able to connect with people from diverse backgrounds. - Ability to navigate sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy. - Customer-first mindset: genuinely motivated to solve problems and support others. - Physically able to lift up to 50 lbs. - Availability to work Wednesday–Saturday, 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM. Member Duties : - Perform hands-on construction tasks for new builds & rehabs, including demolition, site prep, framing, insulation, drywall, flooring, roofing, finish carpentry, & landscaping. - Set up & clean up project sites; manage materials & tools on-site, in the warehouse, & in storage trailers. - Maintain accurate site logs, timecards, and project documentation. - Lead small groups of volunteers on service sites, ensuring they are safe, productive, and positively engaged. - Provide on-site orientations & safety talks for volunteers & partner families. - Collaborate with staff to identify & engage skilled or enthusiastic volunteers for ongoing involvement. - Promote and model safe work practices in alignment with Habitat safety guidelines. - Monitor job sites for safety compliance & educate volunteers on proper procedures. - Attend safety & planning trainings with construction staff. - Document & share stories, photos, & videos highlighting activities & impact.
