Brattleboro Memorial Hospital (BMH) is a non-profit, community-focused hospital committed to providing exceptional health care with compassion and respect. Our mission is to improve the health and well-being of the people we serve by delivering patient-centered care and promoting wellness across all stages of life. BMH’s strives to assist in creating a healthy community were everyone thrives. BMH serves individuals and families throughout Windham County and surrounding rural communities, with a special focus on underserved populations. We work to address health and wellness by addressing the social determinants of health—through community wellness initiatives, access to affordable care, partnerships with local organizations, and programs that improve nutrition, mental health, housing stability, and safety.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will play a key role in advancing Brattleboro Memorial Hospital’s community wellness initiative by developing programs, building partnerships, and expanding access to essential health and wellness resources. By coordinating volunteer efforts, supporting outreach, and assisting with resource development, the VISTA will strengthen our ability to serve low-income individuals and families by addressing the social determinants of health. Their work will directly support our mission to improve community well-being and help break the cycle of poverty by addressing health disparities, increasing access to care, and promoting long-term stability, wellness and safety.
