21-22 World Relief Spokane Resource Support Specialist
World Relief Spokane is a non-profit organization that serves refugees and other vulnerable immigrants with a variety of services. The office works with with these program participants from their first day in the United States for many years to come as they adjust to life in America. The Resource Support Specialist will support the housing and donations programs at World Relief to help newly-arrived refugee and immigrant participants achieve sustainable housing and progress toward self-sufficiency by mobilizing and supporting volunteers, expanding the capacity of the GIK program, and coordinating donations, deliveries and other support for participant families. As part of the GIK, we want to ensure that every newly arrived participant receives basic necessary items and furnishings to support sustainable housing.

Member Duties : The essential functions of the role will include: -Coordinate furniture and household item donations and deliveries to families moving into permanent housing. -Expand the capacity of the Gift in Kind (GIK) program by creating new opportunities for donations and event support. -Communicate with the GIK and resettlement team to provide and deliver furniture, household items, and other needed items to newly resettled families. -Ensure the warehouse is organized and clean and receiving and distribution systems are utilized. -Mobilize general and specialized warehouse and GIK volunteers to maximize potential, come up with innovative ways to mobilize them for Match Grant (MG) GIK and capture their hours for MG GIK. -Enter GIK into GIVE program for data tracking and track regular donors. -Assist the Volunteer Coordinator with recruiting and supporting volunteers across all AmeriCorps projects at World Relief.
