21-22 World Relief Spokane Economic Opportunity Vol Svcs
World Relief Spokane is a non-profit organization that serves refugees and other vulnerable immigrants with a variety of services. The office works with with these program participants from their first day in the United States for many years to come as they adjust to life in America. As part of the mission of the office, the office works to support participants with services and also to train volunteers and community members to welcome and support these newcomers. The Economic Opportunity Volunteer Services role is designed to do a little of both. The focus of the role is the training and coordination of a team of volunteers who carry out specific intake functions on a regular rotation. Part of the role is also hands-on direct support to individuals who are looking for help, conducting basic needs assessments, document collection, scheduling and connection to in-house or community services. That includes a great deal of communication, coordination and troubleshooting. The office will be interviewing applicants in August with the hope of starting in September.
