ATF Community & Economic Dev. of Pinhoti Trail Towns VISTA
 
 
 
Work with the Alabama Trails Foundation to establish social and economic relevance for Piedmont, Alabama by increasing local awareness of outdoor recreation, teaching local leaders and business owners about the positive economic impact of outdoor recreation, and building citizen and community leader support of recreational infrastructure. Create avenues for community members of diverse backgrounds to engage with the Pinhoti Trail and other local trails through events, education, and volunteerism.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will 1. identify the elements needed to build a framework for an outdoor recreation strategy that can be used for economic development in communities flanking the Pinhoti Trail. 2. Develop an outreach strategy to better reach local, regional, and statewide supporters of the Pinhoti Trail. 3. increase local community awareness and engagement with trails to build sustainable support for the trails and outdoor recreation development. 4. develop a framework for a team to be created to continue advancing toward the main goal of the project.
