Helping Mamas: Impacting Women and Children in Poverty

Helping Mamas is a nonprofit organization that provides essential baby items to women and children living in poverty. We collect and distribute essential baby items to organizations that serve women and children. Our contention is that families can't focus on the skills needed to move out of poverty if their basic needs aren't met. We provide diapers, clothing, car seats, cribs and other essential baby items. We partner with social service agencies, schools and hospitals to distribute baby items to the clients they are serving.1 in 3 women have had to choose between diapers and food for their children. Public Assistance programs don't allow for the purchase of essential baby items like diapers. We have created a network of providers that serve women and children and help provide education and outreach about women and children living in poverty. We work with companies, volunteers and civic groups to further our mission to make sure no mom has to choose between diapers and food again.
