United Communities AmeriCorps (UCA) engages members in meaningful service designed to meet critical community needs in Coos, Douglas, Jackson and Josephine counties in beautiful Southern Oregon. UCA partners with community-based organizations, government agencies and schools to address needs relating to education, healthy futures and economic opportunity. UCA members serve full-time in various service term commitments. Member Duties : United Communities AmeriCorps is recruiting 20 full-time AmeriCorps members (20 MSYs) to serve at schools, non-profits and government agencies in five Southwestern Oregon counties (Douglas, Coos, Curry, Josephine and Jackson). Members will implement effective volunteer management practices to improve the capacity at their host sites to be better equipped to serve youth, clients, and program beneficiaries. Members will do this by leveraging volunteers to support education activities, job-skills training, health and wellness programs, and environmental restoration projects. Member will also lead program activities which will engage the volunteers they are supporting.
