Member Duties : (1) Assist in developing a Mentoring Program – Mentors will include community members, former refugees, peer refugees, members of the faith based community and relatives of refugees.
(2) Assist in developing a Community Facilitated Enhanced Cultural Orientation for refugees.
(3) Assist in developing a Refugee Speakers Bureau made up of Refugees/Former Refugees to tell their own stories. Speaker’s bureau members will co-present at educational events, conduct outreach at community fairs with information tables, and speak at events.
(4) Assist in developing Volunteer Engagement Strategies in order to draw and retain volunteers. Engagement activities involve regular contact with active/inactive volunteers, determining interests and strengths of volunteers and matching them accordingly. Other related activities involve volunteer recognition events, monthly meetings, and systems of praise, support and training.
