The Blue Mountain Action Council AmeriCorps team 2014-2015 is seeking an individual that is highly motivated and willing to commit to a 10 1/2 month, 40+ hours a week term of National Service. The AmeriCorps Team Members will be: tutoring high-risk elementary, middle, or high school age students, mentoring Juvenile Offenders, Leading recovery groups, middle and high school drug and alcohol intervention and prevention, providing Health Services, creating Community Action, OR empowering Families in positive change. During the service year, members should expect to participate in a variety of partnerships and projects including, but not limited to: Litter pick up and removal, Service Description : The Blue Mountain Action Council AmeriCorps team 2014-2015 is seeking an individual that is highly motivated and willing to commit to a 10 1/2 month, 40+ hours a week term of National Service. During the service year, members should expect to participate in a variety of partnerships and projects including, but not limited to: Litter pick up and removal, Tree Harvesting, Elderly Care, Stream Restoration, Arts/Crafts, Public Events, Volunteer recruitment and organizing, Event Planning, Committee Participation and Leadership, Tutoring, Mentoring, Dog and Cat Kennel Cleaning, Library organizing, Cleaning, Snow Shoveling, and/or workshop design and implementation.

Member Duties : BMAC AmeriCorps has served the Walla Walla Valley since 1993. Serving in rural schools and community agencies in Walla Walla and Columbia County. Members strive to meet the needs of low income individuals by expanding services provided to children and adults in the community. BMAC AmeriCorps members work as a team to engage in the community and provide assistance to a wide range of schools and nonprofits. Together members will work to develop a team project and carry it out throughout the service year. Our 30 member team meets regularly for professional and personal development and training, as well as team-led service projects. As leaders of the team, we believe in providing a meaningful experience to all our AmeriCorps members, while creating positive change in our community. Members will have opportunities to collaborate with each other to expand the services and opportunities at their sites, as well as additional service opportunities in the various schools and nonprofits.
