Assistant Student Coach, Tutoring and Learning Center
 
 
 
The Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) at Miami Regionals is an office that aims to support students succeed in the classroom by offering free tutoring, mentoring, placement testing, and study skills support. The TLC has Student Specialists, Coaches, tutors, and mentors to meet the various needs to Miami Regionals students. The TLC offers all services at both Miami campuses as well as virtually. The TLC also oversees courses that help students learn and implement college success skills to support them as they navigate the college campus. VISTAs serving in the TLC at Miami Regionals will be trained to serve students who have been identified as needing some additional support through the University. The VISTA will meet regularly with the student to identify campus resources that will help them succeed. They will also help with topics such as time management, professor interactions, individualized learning plans, executive functioning skills, etc. This position is a great fit for someone who wants to help others and enjoys navigating the college campus. Additionally, someone who is open to new ideas and likes trying innovative ways to support students in the every-changing college environment. It is most helpful if the VISTA has graduated from a 2- or 4- year institution.

Member Duties : The VISTA member will work within the Tutoring and Learning Center (TLC) to support students who have demonstrated a need for additional learning assistance during their journey as students at Miami University Regionals.
