Take Stock in Children (TSIC), a nonprofit 501(c) 3 corporation, was established in 1995 in response to the high rate of students dropping out of high school in the state and the need for an effective strategy to break the cycle of educational failure and poverty among Florida's at-risk youth. The mission of Take Stock in Children is to passionately promote personal growth, self-responsibility and academic success for deserving low-income children by providing a unique set of resources including mentors, college scholarships, long-term support, student advocacy and a guaranteed educational opportunity. Take Stock in Children, Inc. provides deserving low-income children in Florida with college or vocational-technical scholarships and adult mentors. We believe that a willing child can succeed with the help of committed and caring adults, encouragement and challenge, hard work and accountability.
