United Way of Coastal Georgia Volunteer Engagement VISTA

United Way of Coastal Georgia strives to create a community where all individuals and families have the opportunity to achieve their maximum potential through education, income stability and health. We are also passionate about creating and connecting volunteers to opportunities to give of their time and talents to create lasting solutions that improve life for everyone. In United Way of Coastal Georgia’s service area, 24% of youth aged 16 to 24 are neither employed or in school and this crisis in both urban Glynn County and rural McIntosh counties impacts our region's poverty rates. McIntosh County is a rural county, ranked 50 out of 159 Georgia counties, making it one of the poorest counties in the state and difficult to reach vulnerable populations with services. As an AmeriCorps VISTA, you will join our team of professionals to help build the capacity of United Way of Coastal Georgia and its community partners to engage volunteers in ways that empower youth and families to obtain employment and improve their education. If you’re a motivated, flexible, and outcome-oriented self-starter looking to help end generational poverty and develop skills and training crucial to career success, join us!
