**Still Hiring 2015-2016 Economic Development Assocaite

The NEAR program focuses on community engagement, community development, neighborhood revitalization and economic development in the City of La Crosse and the surrounding area. Much of the activities will focus heavily on three high poverty neighborhoods in La Crosse while other activities will focus on reducing poverty throughout the region. Couleecap, our program partners, and other local community organizations strive to increase opportunities and make a difference in the lives of low income individuals. We use the AmeriCorps VISTA program to help make this happen. We will focus on expanding existing programming and developing new programming so that more low income individuals can be reached and become more economically self-sufficient. We will also work on community building and revitalization activities to help bring residents together and strengthen their presence in the neighborhood as well as improving local housing conditions for low income individuals
