AmeriCorps - Digital Literacy
 
 
 
Association House of Chicago helps people develop the digital skills they need for future jobs. Participants will learn essential computer skills from experienced instructors. There are beginner and advanced courses offered and certification opportunities with Microsoft Office Suite (MOS) available. AmeriCorps members will assist with individualized or small group assistance to participants needing affordable internet services, access to high-speed internet, and coaching in introductory digital skills.

Member Duties : 1. Participate in community outreach events organized to inform residents about access to affordable internet services, upcoming digital literacy trainings, and opportunities for open lab times. 2. Facilitate workshops to coach participants on using home internet services, program software, and technology applications. 3. Assess participants on their digital skills and recommend appropriate training workshops. 4. Track participant progress, and keep accurate and timely records. 5. Participate in AmeriCorps community service events and program awareness campaigns. 6. Track and maintain accurate program outcome deliverables for reporting purposes. 7. Other duties as assigned.
