Arizona Governor Katie Hobbs is committed to ensuring a just, equitable, diverse, and inclusive government and state. The Governor’s purpose “is to make a just, prosperous, and resilient Arizona for everyone by acting with integrity, engaging communities, and making government a force for opportunity and growth.” To achieve this goal, the Governor's Office will be expanding constituent engagement services to better serve the people of Arizona. Organizational goals include addressing concerns, connecting people with information and resources, listening to their viewpoints, and ensuring they find solutions to their issues. The AmeriCorps VISTA volunteer will be supervised by the Director of Constituent Engagement.

Member Duties : Resource Navigation: The VISTA will map out services available through nonprofits and state agencies across Arizona in order to expand the assistance the office is able to give constituents. They will also create systems to be able to record information and keep it updated. Systems Creation: The VISTA will research and test internal systems for the Office of Constituent Engagement in order to increase effectiveness statewide. This will include the ways in which staff, interns, and volunteers communicate and meet with one another. Training and Onboarding: The VISTA, with the assistance of the director, will determine what trainings will enable staff to successfully assist constituents. Potential trainings topics may include de-escalation, mental health first aid, and effective communication. They will also oversee creation of onboarding processes for candidates being brought into the office.
