23 VISTA Arizona Serve - PUSD - Intervention Specialist
 
 
 
Prescott Unified School District (PUSD) is a public school district over 100 years old that is committed to “Every Child, Every Day.” Over five years ago PUSD began monitoring students who were chronically absent from school and leveraged a cycle of AmeriCorps members to reach out to families to address what was keeping students from attending. Trends were noticed and a new gap was identified. The Intervention Specialist will work alongside a new staff role to support student success-related programs including academic tutoring, unique populations programming, and launch new district-wide interventions. The VISTA will build capacity for student intervention through collaborating with existing programs to build a sustainable whole-child approach. The VISTA will assist the district in bridging the gaps among all aspects of student success with an evidence-based approach. **Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, please apply immediately for consideration.**

Member Duties : Assessment: Utilize district assessment data to identify academic gaps, measure the impact of academic tutoring, and develop a system for collecting assessment data that measures how much impact various student intervention programs have on meeting student needs. Project Development: The VISTA will create systems to connect various student support programs in order to take a whole-student approach to student success, bridging the gaps between academics, attendance, behavior, student wellbeing, and potential external factors. They will also build upon existing systems for compiling and tracking district attendance data. Sustainability: Build capacity in the district by identifying processes that allow for the sustainable continuation of successful student intervention across all areas. They will also contribute to building an inclusive district community by designing a visible diversity and inclusion statement, creating a welcoming school culture, and supporting equity.
