CivicSpark Program

The program offers three thematic tracks: CivicSpark Climate (50 Fellows), CivicSpark Water (20 Fellows), and CivicSpark Opportunity Access (20). Climate Fellows will work on projects that focus on a range of issues including energy efficiency, climate adaptation and mitigation, and greenhouse gas reduction. Water projects focus on topics such as drought response, green infrastructure, and groundwater management. Opportunity Access projects include multi-modal transportation, affordable housing, and broadband access. While projects vary, Fellows can expect to work on a range of tasks including meeting facilitation, community outreach, data collection and analysis, and report writing. Fellows will also have the opportunity to work on volunteer engagement projects, as well as attend regular trainings to build professional and technical skills. Fellows will complete their service year with a strong understanding of working with local governments as well as experience in using key sustainability and water management tools. Learn more about the program by visiting our website at http://civicspark.lgc.org/. You can also check out our Fellow FAQ page at http://civicspark.lgc.org/fellow-faq/ if you have any questions.
