VISTA members will be placed in various agencies in the Abilene community to work on the development and/or expansion of community based programs. Job duties will be determined based on service site. Duties may include community outreach, grand writing, and/or developing programs.

Member Duties : AHEC working in collaboration with various agencies serving the West Central Texas Region work on capacity builiding and program development. The VISTA will be based in Abilene to work for the development and delivery of community based programs. The focus of the AHEC VISTA program is to create programs to meet the needs of the underserved, ethnic minority, and economically disadvantaged populations.
