Health and Fitness for All 
 
 
 
Gain valuable professional experience while making an impact in your community. The Arc of the United States is looking for part-time AmeriCorps members with a passion for public health to serve on our Health and Fitness for All team. You’ll support with improving health equity for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) by implementing the HealthMatters™ curriculum to deliver health education and physical activity classes to adults with IDD living in California. Members can teach either virtually or in-person if you reside in CA. All individuals will receive training and support by the instructors who created the HealthMatters curriculum. Apply today to help strengthen your local community through national service with Public Health AmeriCorps, a joint partnership between AmeriCorps and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Member Duties : Members will co-lead health education and fitness classes for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) that live in California using the HealthMatters™ curriculum. Members will receive training to become certified instructors of the HealthMatters curriculum. They will also develop a participant recruitment plan for participants, complete any pre-work leading up to the classes, and assist with program evaluation. Classes are taught 2-3 times per week for 12-weeks. Members should expect to teach the classes twice within a year of their start date. Members are part-time and can serve either remote or in-person (in-person is only for California).
