MTCC Flathead Valley Community College Library Summer
 
 
 
The Flathead Valley Community College (FVCC) Library aims to promote and provide access to quality information resources and services to ensure excellence in lifelong learning, student success, and support community needs. The goal of this project is to create materials and programming for summer outreach to high school and college students, faculty, and staff. Montana Campus Compact (MTCC) serves as the intermediary for this project. MTCC is a CEO-led coalition of colleges and universities that support civic engagement, service learning, and volunteerism across the state. Every year we place cohorts of full-time, part-time, and summer AmeriCorps members with schools, colleges, nonprofits, and government agencies in Montana. The AmeriCorps projects we facilitate increase educational equity, break down barriers between higher education and community organizations, and address the root causes of poverty in communities across the state.

Member Duties : As an AmeriCorps member, you will work with technology located in the FVCC Library Makerspace to create materials and programming to support summer outreach to high school and college students, faculty, and staff. The materials and lesson plans will then be used to support visiting middle and high schools, community members, and FVCC students. From 3D printing to laser engraving, you’ll have the chance to learn current technology and teach these educational and workforce skills to others.
