MTCC AmeriCorps Part-Time College Coach - MSU TRIO SSS

The TRIO Student Support Services program at Montana State University in Bozeman is committed to increasing the rates of academic achievement, retention, and graduation among historically underrepresented students. This is accomplished by providing holistic and individualized support services that maximize students' innate abilities and draw upon available resources within, and outside of, the university to benefit students, families, and the larger community. MSU TRIO SSS scholars receive unsurpassed support from a committed team of staff, students, and mentors from the moment they enroll as a Bobcat through graduation. This program has assembled a collection of innovative programs and services designed to enrich and shape students' university experience—both inside and outside of the classroom. Examples include regular access to career coaching, one-on-one academic mentoring, success advising, learning strategy advising, professional skills training, and financial coaching. Students also have the opportunity to learn more about their own potential through the use of personalized inventories to develop a sense of who they are and what they might do with their degree. Beyond supportive people and services, the program offers access to events, lectures, workshops, networking events, research experiences, mentoring, and luncheons. These programs and experiences are designed to provide important context, inspiration, and networking to advance MSU's signature student experience. Through a partnership with the US Department of Education, the MSU TRIO SSS program is committed to supporting low-income, first-generation, and disabled students. The program is honored to serve and support this vibrant community of citizens and scholars. In addition, TRIO Scholars have access to 10 free hours of academic mentoring per week, leadership opportunities, early class registration, community development opportunities, a free breakfast once per week, free printing, and more!
