Minnesota Reading Corps- K3 Literacy Tutor- St. Charles

Begin your career with meaning: Grow the skills of children. You can help children succeed in school by giving them the extra support they need to read. Every year, Minnesota Reading Corps trains tutors to directly impact over 30,000 children age 3 through grade 3 in schools across Minnesota. As a tutor, you will implement research-based interventions to help children believe in themselves and succeed—all while building your own skills and network to embark on a successful career path. Minnesota Reading Corps is the nation’s largest state AmeriCorps program. Three types of literacy tutor positions are available: Preschool, Elementary, and Kindergarten-Focus. All Literacy Tutors serve a term of service as AmeriCorps members and are assigned to one elementary school or preschool. Reading Corps will provide you with extensive training, support and literacy interventions that have seen real results for struggling students. You will conduct tutoring sessions, you’ll monitor students’ progress and work with a coach to ensure they get on track to read successfully by the end of third grade. In exchange for your service, you will receive a modest living stipend, an education award to further your own education, and other benefits if eligible.
