AmeriCorps St. Louis Career Corps

Members assigned to Career Centers must have a strong comfort level both using and teaching others to use computer-based technology in one-on-one and group settings, a sound command of the written and oral skills necessary to assist job seekers in resume writing and interviewing, the cultural competency to serve a socio-demographic and racially diverse clientele, and the personal maturity and presence to interface with assets in the community that will enhance the mission of the Career Centers. College degree or prior similar experience is required. Preference will be given to those with volunteer and leadership experience. Proof of citizenship or status as a refugee alien is required along with a criminal background check. Although it is not required, due to the high number of recent immigrants seeking assistance at several of the Centers, speakers of other languages are highly encouraged to apply. Pre-service training will be conducted in and around St. Louis, although successful applicants will be assigned to serve their term at their choice of locales across the state. Transportation is a plus.
