Adelante is a non-profit, volunteer-based organization chartered to provide educational resources and support to Louisville’s Hispanic/Latino youth and their families. Adelante’s programs focus on: Academics and College Readiness, Cultural Awareness, Community Engagement, Career Exploration, and Personal & Social Development. We help Hispanic youth set and meet high personal, educational, and career goals, and we engage parents in their children’s education and future. Working with our community partners and sponsors, Adelante students and parents are gaining skills and knowledge to succeed cross culturally, reach their full potential, and make our community a better place.

Member Duties : Resource Development/Community Liaison/Assessment. Adelante’s mission is to inspire Hispanic youth and families to achieve their dreams and become creative, educated world citizens. As an AmeriCorps VISTA with Adelante, you will work with a small, highly dedicated team to strengthen the services and programs we provide to the Hispanic community by improving organization infrastructure. Duties include: 1) Resource Development a) Fund raising events and b)”Friend-raising/donor base; 2) Community Liaison (Represent Adelante at conferences, community events) 3) Data Collection and Analysis; 4) Program Support (Mentoring & Enrichment, College Readiness, and After School Programs). Requirements: Positive and creative thinker. Enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. Organizational skills, attention to detail, excellent follow through. Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Spanish fluency is a plus.
