Summer UCA - ECEC Volunteer & Healthy Food Advocate 1

Serving in Elkton, OR at the Elkton Community Education Center, the Volunteer & Healthy Food Advocate-1 will increase access to locally grown food in our rural community during a time of great uncertainty as economic & food insecurity continue to rise. The member will help develop new ways to distribute fruit and vegetables grown at our community center, while helping the center develop better systems for recruiting and managing volunteers in the future. United Communities AmeriCorps (UCA) engages members in meaningful service to meet critical needs in SW Oregon. UCA projects improve access to community programs in project focus areas of Education, Economic Opportunity, Healthy Futures, and Environmental Stewardship. Members engage clients in their dedicated service project, and then use their experience to recruit, retain, and support community volunteers. UCA Summer of Service Members serve part-time, totaling 300 hours for the term of service. Our positions have benefits (education award, monthly stipend, etc). For more information and position descriptions, visit: www.ucancap.org/americorps. Interviews are conducted on a rolling basis as qualified candidates are identified. Selection may be made prior to the application deadline. Early application is strongly encouraged.
