Latah County Recovery Center

The proposed VISTA project will work with a wide variety of community stakeholders to map and mobilize the potential resources available in the community that can serve the specific needs of the two major target populations: low income individuals/families and veterans/families. In addition to identification of available resources the VISTA member will work on development of strategies to attract and capture new resources to support service needs of individuals and groups from the target population. Since volunteers are one of the important resources in creating community, the VISTA member will develop or refine a formal volunteer recruitment plan and implement this plan. The VISTA member will further develop and implement a formal volunteer training plan and procedures to strengthen retention of volunteers. The VISTA member will assist the center in outreach to nearby communities in establishing local recovery community efforts. Finally the VISTA member will be a resource in identifying and developing grants that can expand recovery support needs being addressed by the center. a special focus on identifying and reaching veterans resources.
