A Place Called Home Mentoring Program Associate

A Place Called Home (APCH) is a safe haven in South Central Los Angeles where underserved youth are empowered to take ownership of the quality and direction of their lives through programs in education, arts, and well-being. Through an in-house Mentoring Program, that will be piloted in the Spring of 2013, participants will improve their academic performance, attendance in schools, social competency, contribute to a college-going culture that is lacking in this neighborhood--all which lead to attendance and graduation from college, gainful employment and eventually breaking the cycles of poverty and crime in South Los Angeles. The Youth Mentoring Program Associate will assist in the development and implementation of an in-house and community-based APCH Mentoring Program that will provide individualized attention to tweens and teens via curriculum, and pairing with caring adult mentors who will offer exposure to a range of alternatives and opportunities in life.
