Many farmers in Hawaii are limited English proficient. The Farm Connector Support Program builds capacity for small farmers by increasing access to farm training, grant resources, access to capital, and business development services to increase their chances of business success. This includes creating partnerships with other like-minded organizations to provide access to community members who could benefit from these services.

Member Duties : The VISTA will help PGC's farm program staff build and execute an outreach strategy and collect and disseminate resources to train farmers in environmentally conscious farming practices. The plan will account for factors including ethnicity, priority languages, and community location (zip code). The VISTA will also assist the program coordinator with identifying partners to provide more resources for program participants. The VISTA will circulate program resources through social media, websites, and partner organizations. The VISTA is also expected to assist in the assessments of the training, note best practices, and track metrics such as attendance, retention, behavior changes, etc., and generate reports based on the data collected.
