TMA Community Education and Grants Support Project

This is a new community education program working with our member campuses located in areas with highest poverty rates in our region to provide sustainability, climate change, and environmental justice education and engagement opportunities to the surrounding communities. Communities with high rates of poverty bear the harshest impacts from climate change, environmental degradation, and global and local inequities and therefore should be on the forefront of knowledge and learning about these issues -- both their causes, their interconnectedness, and the possibilities for our collective responses. The program will run for three years and involve planning, fundraising, community listening, and fostering campus-community dialogue. It is a great opportunity for a VISTA member to apply their passion and skills while gaining meaningful professional development.
