CAPI Volunteer Engagement Coordinator - (MAVA)

For 40 years, CAPI has been providing critical resources to immigrants, refugees, and historically underserved communities of color that alleviate poverty and provide a means toward independence and social equity. Founded as a food shelf for refugees arriving in the aftermath of the Vietnam War, CAPI soon began assisting people in securing public benefits that they are eligible for (to enhance their economic position); connecting participants to CAPI’s economic empowerment and civic engagement programming to increase their income and affect social and economic change; and began developing community leaders. The Volunteer Engagement Coordinator will collaborate with members of the leadership team and other staff to evaluate CAPI’s current volunteer systems, increase CAPI’s volunteer capacity, and develop a sustainable volunteer program which enhances the agencies’ ability to better serve our participants. The VEC will gain valuable insight into the nonprofit sector, health and wellness programming, and by establishing a solid volunteer program at CAPI, will build relationships to enhance CAPI’s vision that all refugees, immigrants, and each person in our communities can lead successful lives and exercise fully their civic rights and responsibilities.
