NYC Civic Corps
 
 
 
NYC Civic Corps builds volunteer capacity and volunteer management systems at community-based organizations and city government agencies in New York City. The services provided by these volunteers build and strengthen communities throughout the city. This meaningful service in the community also results in increased health, happiness, and civic engagement in the volunteers—and AmeriCorps members—who are providing those services in their community.

Member Duties : NYC Civic Corps Members serve full time at one of 50 City agency and community based organization (CBO) host sites for service terms lasting 10 months (September 2016 - July 2017). These corps members will serve full time to build volunteer management systems and leverage 50,000 volunteers who address impact areas that are priorities of New York City and the nation, including disaster services, economic opportunity, education, and healthy futures.
 
Program Benefits : Training ,  Living Allowance ,  Monthly Unlimited MetroCards ,  Health Coverage ,  Childcare assistance if eligible ,  Education award upon successful completion of service .
